Chinese Wu Long Tea

Wulong tea (also known as Oolong, Woolong or Wuyi tea) is becoming more and more popular due to its supposed health benefits. Many believe Wulong Tea serves as a useful anti-oxidant, anti-ageing, slimming or weight loss tea that can even prevent dental cavaties (caries) due to the fluorine present in the tea.

The literal translation of "Wu long" is 'Black Dragon'. It contains a high level of anti- oxidants, more so than in a green or black tea. Wulong tea contains the natural anti-oxidant of polyphenols. A refreshing cup of Wulong tea is a wonderful supplement to any diet, and is believed to reduce free radicals in the body and thus aid in the fight against the signs of ageing. Some Wulong tea drinkers also report reverse ageing as some of the noticeable benefits they have recieved from Wulong tea.

Oolong is a medium-bodied tea that doesn't have the bitter taste of other teas, instead it has a wonderfully rich aroma. This traditional Chinese tea is a great addition to compliment any healthy routine, or to kickstart a new and healthier lifestyle change.

This Chinese tea also contains less caffeine than a a 12oz can of soda, 5 oz cup or coffee, or one black tea bag made with 8oz of water.

There are many varieties of Wuyi tea. This pleasant-tasting brew is well known for its believed contribution to weight loss, and thus has become quite the popular drink these days, as many hope to benefit from its apparent slimming and weight loss effect. This is because teas speed up your metabolism, thus helping to burn fat and calories. Naturally, this doesn't mean one can drink tea and completely ignore all healthy eating. Wuyi Tea is a complement to any healthy lifestyle or weight loss program. When coupled with a healthy diet and excercise program this tea can help speed up the weight loss process.

Teas are generally believed to promote a healthy heart, to fight against certain types of cancers, to reduce the risk of stroke, and to improve general overall health and well- being. Wu long tea is best brewed and enjoyed using almost-boiled water, but never at a boiling temperature.

Oolong is also believed to protect your body against a variety of diseases, and also serves a pleasantly refreshing and healthier alternative to other beverages. Of course, a diet low in fats, sweets and soda pop, along with regular exercise will increase any benefits derived from enjoying this tea.

So why not treat your heart, skin, immune system and indeed your entire body to a healthy and refreshing pot of Wulong tea!
